The Laura Ingalls Wilder Park & Museum is honored to have received the 2024 Reader’s Choice Best of the Best Award for Local Attraction, presented by the Fillmore County Journal. This recognition reflects the continued support of visitors, volunteers, and community members who help keep Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Burr Oak story alive.

The Reader’s Choice awards are sponsored annually by the Fillmore County Journal, a family-owned weekly newspaper based in Preston, Minnesota, the county seat of Fillmore County. Readers across the region vote for their favorite local businesses, organizations, and attractions, making this award especially meaningful as it is driven entirely by community participation.

Being named Best Local Attraction is a testament to the dedication of the museum’s staff and volunteers, the generosity of donors and sponsors, and the enthusiasm of visitors who travel from near and far to experience the history of Burr Oak and the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder. From guided tours and educational programs to special events and seasonal celebrations, the museum strives to provide engaging and memorable experiences for guests of all ages.

The Laura Ingalls Wilder Park & Museum extends sincere thanks to everyone who voted, visited, volunteered, or supported the museum throughout the year. This recognition encourages us to continue preserving pioneer history, sharing Laura’s Burr Oak story, and welcoming future generations to the museum.
