Meet Our Little Miss Lauras for 2022–2023

During the Laura Days Celebration in June 2022, two outstanding young ladies were named Little Miss Laura for the 2022–2023 season. Isabelle Cagley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Brielle Gavin of Lansing, Iowa tied for the title after earning perfect scores in the Little Miss Laura contest.

Participants were evaluated on several criteria, including a written essay, pioneer-era costume, knowledge of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her life, overall poise, and presentation. The judges were highly impressed with both Isabelle and Brielle and were confident in their ability to serve as excellent ambassadors for the Laura Ingalls Wilder Park & Museum.

Throughout the year, Isabelle and Brielle proudly represented the museum together at parades, fundraisers, community events, and special activities, helping to share Laura’s Burr Oak story with visitors and communities near and far.

We are grateful for the time, enthusiasm, and dedication these two young ladies brought to their roles and are proud to have had them represent the museum during the 2022–2023 season.
