The Laura Ingalls Wilder Park & Museum would like to recognize the two young ladies who served as Little Miss Laura ambassadors over the past year: Brielle Gavin and Isabelle Cagley. These remarkable girls tied for the honor at last year’s Laura Days and have done an outstanding job representing the museum at fundraisers, parades, and in their communities.

For the 2023–2024 year, the museum is pleased to announce that Isabelle Cagley will continue serving as Little Miss Laura. No applicants were received this year for the Little Miss Laura or Young Almanzo contests.

Children ages 9–12 who are interested in becoming Little Miss Laura or Young Almanzo must have a strong knowledge of Laura Ingalls Wilder or Almanzo Wilder, as well as pioneer life. Candidates are required to submit an essay of 500 words or less on Laura or Almanzo, and then meet with a panel of judges on the morning of Laura Days to share their knowledge and enthusiasm. Applications for the 2024 contests will be posted on the museum’s website on May 1, 2024.
