The Laura Ingalls Wilder Park & Museum in Burr Oak, Iowa, invites young artists to participate in the annual Children’s Coloring Contest, a fun and creative way to celebrate Laura Ingalls Wilder and pioneer life. This contest encourages children to explore their artistic skills while learning about Laura’s story and the traditions of Burr Oak.

Coloring contest entries must be submitted by June 12, 2026 to be eligible for judging.
The Details
Who Can Enter
- Children ages 8–10
- Anyone within a reasonable distance of Burr Oak is welcome to participate
- No prior experience required — creativity and enthusiasm are what matter most!
Contest Details & Rewards
- The winner will be announced during Laura Days
- The winner will receive a Laura Ingalls Wilder Coloring Book.
- The winning picture will be displayed in the museum’s Visitor Center for the following year.
